Let's Do This Joshua
The Land Of Milk And Honey
Without a doubt Moses paved the way for Joshua to continue his mission. Because Moses lead by example Joshua was able to continue the mission of leading the Israelites into the Promise Land.
I do believe that the Land of Milk and Honey was made up of a number of territories. Similar to the U.S. states that are a part of our country. So securing all of these territories took skill and combat. Most of all faith and wisdom.
What stood out for me in the book of Joshua is all the preparation that went into leading people into a land that was promised to them. There were some tribes that God instructed Joshua to destroy and there were some that God asked him to refrain from destroying or pillaging. As awful as taking out other tribes may seem, it is all put in perspective when we find out how these tribes were living and harming their children. This sexual immortality could corrupt the moral values that God tried to instill in the Israelites as well as followers to come. The beauty of it all is the fact that some people within these tribes could accept the Israelites ways and follow the All Knowing, Loving God. This must have been a relief for those who were suffering through the generational curse of corruption and oppressed rituals.
