Wise Words of Solomon Speaks To The Heart

Proverbs 10 Goes On To Express The Truth About Perfection

In an imperfect world we struggle with right verses wrong, the truth verses lies, good verses evil. There are people who hide their hatred, and through lies and slander they reveal their hate for the truth.( Proverbs Chapter 10 verses 18.)

We All Struggle With The Need To Be Perfect

In my experience having to deal with such people, stems from jealousy. A belief that someone could hold a high standard that is believed to be unattainable to them. Rather than to run their own race or pray and meditate on their inner purpose, their energy is focused on tearing a person down. Let’s face it, we all have been intimidated or jealous of someone at one point in our lives. We can become jealous of celebrities and our friends on Facebook.  Sadly jealousy is a part of life. Jealousy is a natural emotion that clearly expresses our imperfections.

Jealousy = Imperfection
The first form of jealousy started in the beginning of time. As the devil envied the power of God and was cast downed due to his desire to become God.
Later in Genesis, we find that the first murder in the Garden of Eden, stemmed from the root of evil as Cain killed his brother Abel, due to his perception of a lack of perfection in which his brother seemed to have in the eyes of God.

Yet let’s not forget Eve,  that fell into sin beforehand all due to the desire to be perfect just like God. In quest for perfection Eve sacrificed a life of eternity and was subjected to death and the pain of childbearing. But should we be so harsh on Eve?

I too would have fallen victim to the temptation  of  wanting to become as great as God. Yet only to painfully realize , that I do not carry the grace, patience, creativity, humility, inner beauty, peace, or the all knowing presence, that He Naturally possess .
This realization alone creates a human jealousy that is now overshadowed by the desire to be protected, supported, acknowledged, and loved by someone Greater than life itself. Yet, the understanding that God created people to keep Him company so that He could love us is unthinkable.
Why Do I Want To Be Perfect?

The Trailer, “ Honk For Jesus”

In the seemingly dark comedy said to be loosely based on a well known pastor and his wife out of Atlanta, Stellar Actors
Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown  grated by Award Winning  Executive producer: Jordan Peele,  portray the depths of needing to represent the perfect image in a less than perfect marriage.  Tainted by scandal in a now skeptical community, unrighteousness emerges. The  pastor’s sins that he tried to cover up was later settled out of court for a undisclosed amount. As for his First Lady the perfection that she thought she obtained through her faith, was exposed through the vanity of wealth and status.

This mirrors in Proverbs that expectations of the those that hide evil self motives in their hearts will perish. Proverbs Chapter 10 verse 28

So what is our desire to be perfect obtain?  Are we setting ourselves up? In the era of social media most of the news seem to tear people down. A quest to expose the imperfections that individuals worked so hard on to disguise.

There is No Perfect Religion

The Broken Truth

I use to have a statue of a woman reading a book to a child. The statue sat upon a pillar on the wall. I admired the statue. Around the neck of the woman I placed the Star of David and the Cross. I had this statue for many years. And I suppose I took great pride in knowing that a visual statement was present for all to see. Perhaps this statue sat as an idol in my mind representing perfection. Of course in an imperfect world this statue came tumbling down shattering into pieces, breaking the chain that had hung around the neck of the woman for years. In the end, it was only plaster. The chain, tarnished and frail.

In proverbs Chapter 10 the need for wisdom is expressed. Wisdom can not be found in earthly treasures. The need to seek the truth must be found genuinely inside of our hearts and soul. The desire to crave wisdom more than the tempting and alluring easy fix of sin an extension of denial, must take over our being and chase away the generational curse that fights, to stay within in us and the generation to come.

We can’t hide what was born inside of us.

We will never be perfect enough.
In spite of the standards set by society or our parents, our final destination is left up to our creator. We may feel at times that we were dealt a bad hand in life, however it’s how we choose to carry on in our belief. Proverbs teaches us the truth and it’s up to us to apply it. There is healing and prosperity in the word. The fact is that some of us refuse stick with truth and rather have some quick fix in order to bypass what is real.

So where does this leave our children? How do we protect them from chasing after something that is unobtainable.
How do we teach our children to love their imperfections and to stay away from the curse of a corrupt generation?

The Beary Different Magnificent Bear,

The need to be perfect starts early. As parents scramble to enter their kids in competitive sports, eager to make up for an inadequate feeling within themselves. In the Children’s Series The  Beary Different Magnificent Bear, Bearlinda is a multicolored Bear that yearns to fit in with her friends. Bearlinda hates her multicolored fur and has a hard time with self acceptance. In time Bearlinda learns that striving to do the right thing and steering  away from the wrong emotions is what it will take in order for her to become great.
The need to be perfect can be conquered by self acceptance as well as surrounding ourselves with people who love us for who we are. Weeding out those that have fallen captive to envy and hate is important. The steps are obtainable to living a genuine life in Proverbs Chapter 10.
You Are Magnificent!
